Ignition alarm

My ignition alarm did work but quit I'm not sure where it is located Didn't find it under dash I heard that it is located in steering column behind ignition switch as in Buick models but don't know if it is the alarm or the switch not making the alarm work Anybody know of this?

There is a contact switch on the end of the ignition tumbler and the buzzer is part of the horn relay under the hood. When you insert the key it closes the contact completing a circuit to the door switch. When you open the door with the key in the ignition it completes the circuit to the horn relay to make the buzzing sound. If your under hood lamp is on when you close the hood that means the mercury switch on the end of the lamp holder is not working correctly. Just unplug it for now.
