rant and rave over Black rims...  They remove chrome rims and add the ugly black rims     unbelievable

fastest way to change the look of a car, funny how one person can love a certain type of rim and the next person throws them away..all part of the fun i guess

Exactly!

I get a kick out of guys getting upset because someone won't agree with their taste in wheels or colours!

ive been acused of grampa taste, with my white walls and hubcaps! The next owner of my 61 wagon put fat tires and rims on, and my buddy wanted to call and thank him for doing it!! im glad the new owner is taking care of it, if i ever got it back, id just change it back

I understand it has 8 lugs    It would look nice to get rid of them   In my personal opinion they are the ugliest pieces of junk ever produced....

Or a Grande Parisienne!

Next to impossible but with money and a machine shop, it could be done.

The 8-lugs, whether you like the styling or not, were very functional. The 8-lugs were actually rims that attached around the perimeter directly to finned, exposed brake drums. Heat is the enemy of drum brakes, but Pontiac developed without a doubt the best production answer to dissipating heat from the drums. Once you've got them you have no other wheel options though.

Pontiac was planning on offering a 14" version of the 8-lugs on the Tempest / Lemans / GTO for 1966, but cost amortization killed it from reaching production. They are pictured in the 1966 Pontiac Performance models brochure though.

In '66 the 2+2 was U.S. only, here in Canada we got the Parisienne Custom Sport. The 2+2 was 421-powered, while the typical Custom Sport had a 283 (but could get a solid lifter 427!)
