Need a new Radiator - best place to get one?

Hey guys, the last drive of the season I took finished off the rad in my parisienne, it's a 64 with the 283, I parked it and found it bleeding coolant.

I live in Northern Ontario and was wondering if anyone knows where the best place to find a new replacement rad would be.

Also typical question and the answer is probably yes but is the 64 Impala rad the same as the ones in our cars?

Thanx in advance.

I was faced with the same issue a whil back. End result is that I had my existing recored (but upgraded from a dual to a triple). Glad I did.
Not sure if this helps you though? Good luck.

well I checked out Rockauto.com and can't find a rad on there, anyways, sounds like I just need to source one. I figured I'd ask in case someone knew of a sponser on here or a reliable place that had them in stock. I found a few 3 core aluminum ones on ebay, and such. I guess I will weigh my options and go from there.

Thanks again everyone.

The recore option is the best way to go in my opinion. You can increase the capacity of the existing radiator if needed or desired and mainatin a perfect fit and factory appearance. A recore may not be least expensive option. The recore for my Big Block Pontiac was $360. Dropped off radiator at 7:30 am, picked up recore at 4:00 pm, installed before dinner. Being winter you can take your time so waiting for a cheap radiator to arrive from down south may not be an issue.

I used Champion for rad in 427 Chief and recently got one for  Uncle Bernies Lemans    both closer to 200.00  total

Hey all, I pulled the trigger and ordered this Rad http://www.speedcooling.com/Radiators/Chevy/Impala/1963-1964-Chevy-Impala-Aluminum-Radiator/prod_25.html I will let you all know how well it fits and performs once I get it installed.

Good choice, nice looking stamped upper tank. You'll be happy with the cooling of a 1", 2 core aluminum, and it shouldn't cost too much to get it to your door from chicago.

If originality isn't paramount, why recore?

Think I'll leave it Natural, would be a shame to paint over those beautiful welds, I have a soft spot for Tig welds and aluminum bits.

Yeah comparing prices from shops and online places in Canada that rad is a very good deal, and like I said it looks better in person.

I would as of right now recomend these rads as affordable replacements, I'm sure they will perform just fine as well.
