sorry it took so long for me to get the pictures posted. I am told that this is a numbers matching car, 327 2 sp that runs and drives it also comes with new 1/4 panels. hard to see as it was not very bright in the building when I took the picture of them. all glass is intact and in very good shape, interior is original and the floors felt pretty solid. missing 1 chrome body moulding on the passenger rear 1/4 panel. carpet actually looked real decent and they vinyl floor mats are in good shape. LOL weather stripping on windows etc, dried out and will have to be replaced. Trunk area is rusted, looks like original jack etc..in the trunk. Are those rocker panels in the trunk?? not sure if they are for this one or not. Can hardly wait to get a good look at the undercarriage. Please post your comments on what you think of this one. Looks like it is all there to me??? good project car for a Father & Son??

Cheers,

Darren

Looks like a reasonable car. Your budget will allow the extent of the restoration. My son and daughter have worked with me on 4 project builds, so I say go for it. Working on a car with family members ROCKS.

After further review of my own photos you are right about the steering wheel and the CS emblem is missing off the trunk. Where's the best place to get a trunk pan? Also if anyone is around after the 5th of January and in the Winnipeg area I'm willing to buy lunch if your willing to spend some time underneath a car on a hoist to help me check out the frame. My wife asked me today; how much will this cost to restore?....I told her...not as much as the new shop I'm going have to build. Lol

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Darren, This car has been for sale for a couple of years and although I haven't looked closely at it there have been other members here that have (TomWR). It's for sale at a local auto wrecker. Gary is willing to let you use one of his hoists for inspection? Jan. 5th is a Saturday and although real early to commit with certainty I may be able to help inspect. Sons hockey schedule for the second half of the season may interfere but if not I can help. The car isn't very far from either of us. Kevin

Looks to be fairly complete and almost untouched (steering wheel should have a clear top & bottom, wrong wheel covers). The orange rim is from a '50s car. The spare body metal is still a bonus. If the frame is good, that's a big bonus.

Wish you would have got a close up of the trim tag in the picture below. It would tell if the exterior was originally black (it looks like it is). Black on black ... cool.

LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF GOOD PARTS THERE. IF YOU DON'T BUY IT TO FIX, BUY IT FOR PARTS.

Based on the aircleaner valve covers and what i can see of the carb that kind of looks like a 283 2 barrel  to me.  Check that very carefully before you pay for a 327.  Otherwise a pretty good car to start with as it seem quite complete.  CS wheel covers are pretty easy to come by,  Good luck with the frame!

Let us see the 66 GP too!

My 46,xxx mile original CS does not have clear sections in the steering wheel! It is 2 tone blue.

So have to believe that this one is correct.

I have been following these CS cars forever.Mine,a 65 has a solid red wheel.I believe that a CS came with the clear sections in the steering wheel. It is not an option or does it say in the broshure about the wheel.Just trim, buckets, console, grille, badging and 2 door only.I found that in the factory if the guy could'nt grab a column with one they used a solid colour. What a topic.

looks like a twin to my really rough 09 car even down to the vinyl top and the power antena, color is the same except for the interior, yours is in alot better shape.  it does not seem to be a 327 car, check the size of the fuel line the 3/8 only came on 327 and big blocks quick check, cool find

image.jpgMan you guys really know your Pontiacs. Lol. I will get some pics of tags etc... In the new year. I think the all black wheel looks cool, my son thinks its cool also so i guess we go with what we have lol. kinda matches the theme for the car black/black. Our intentions for this one (if the frame is good) is to build a cruiser not a trailer queen. After looking at that trunk and viewing other members projects we figured that we better improve our welding skills. Where is the best place to get a tank for this. Lincoln SP-100 we live in the Winnipeg area

its not so much knowing the cars, its being boned by others in the past, made you learn quick how not to do it again, its nice to pass it on, good karma and all. if it has a 3/8 line then maybe the engine was changed out, i didnt see a clutch fan big rad proper valve covers or proper exhaust manifolds.

If I get an oppertunity to have a look with you on your inspection I can help decipher 283/327 but it does look like a 283 from the picture provided. Praxair on Regent Ave is as good as any for your tank. Every 65 CS I've had has also had a clear sectioned steering wheel but don't doubt that they came without as well.
