I have a loose leaf, used, 62-69 Acadian parts book. The cover page was missing so I made a photocopy of it to go along with the book. For those who have never seen the GM parts manuals, these are an excellent resource when you have a car that they apply to. They are not only good for looking up part numbers, but have many illustrations, can be used for interchange from year to year, have powertrain info etc etc. This is not an easy book to find. Looking at ebay, there is currently not one shown in either active or completed auctions, so this is a good opportunity if you want one.

Normally a donation to Canadian Poncho that is an auction has a set time, just like ebay. I usually do it for a week, so lets say until next Sunday night at 9:00 PM Manitoba (Central) Time. However, I propose a twist to this auction, like ebay.

How about we do a Buy It Now for $175 for this book. If you wish to do that, and for some reason wish to remain anonymous, just send me a private message saying that and I can post up here that Buy It Now has been used and the auction is ended. At that point, you can either pay Todd and the book will be shipped out, or you can pay me (if you would like to remain truly anonymous so even Todd doesn't know who donated) and I will pass it along to him.

If the auction runs it's course and the winner is only declared next Sunday at 9:00, the buyer will be responsible for actual shipping costs. In other words, Buy It Now includes free shipping. A little incentive to use Buy It Now! Also in a different auction, with identical terms is a 62-69 Beaumont parts manual.

Ok, I can hardly believe this. Neither this or the other book is an easy find. Neither listing has a single bite.

1) The economy must be horrible

OR


2) Nobody needs a parts book for a Beaumont or Acadian

OR


3) Nobody on Canadian Poncho can read!

I'm surprised too!! If I had a car that I could use these book's for I'd be all over these. I have one for my '75 Grand Am that I got at a swap meet new, never used. I even found one for my winter driver ( '93 Buick Century ) on E-bay also new and never used. Both book's have been worth while investment's. So if you have one of these fine Canadian car's bid away you won't be sorry!

Is this manual sold? I have just joined and never taken part in a forum or blog so do not really know how it works, but am interested in this manual. We will be shipping a 67 Canso SD from down east to Alberta shortly. We will be looking for extras such as the SD emblems and possibly the Acadian hub caps. Any ideas as to where to look or find these items? Much appreciated.

Yes, it sold but I believe the buyer, Lefty, said he has it already and only bought it because it was a fundraiser for this site.

Maybe if you contact Lefty he would be willing to sell it. These parts manuals are a great resource when you are parts hunting.

And by the way, welcome here and we look forward to pictures and more details on your Acadian.

And if you don't know how to do something on this forum, just ask. We were all newbies once too!
