SUPER DUTY SWEET! The only flaw i saw in this beauty, is the amber parking lights. What an incredibly beautiful car. For those that do not know......... this is the car that saved Pontiac. In 1955 Bunkie Knudsen was hired by GM to save Pontiac because sales were slipping big time. The first thing Bunkie did for the 1957 was get rid of the hood streaks and tell the Pontiac engineers to think HORSE POWER. The 1955 and 1956 was a done deal but he had say over last minute changes for 1957. The 1957 Pontiac saved Pontiac and from there on Pontiac just grew into a sales power house. They were number three or at the very least number four in sales right into the late sixties. Had the 1957 been a flop, there might have been a very different story to tell for Pontiac. Because GM mandated that Bunkie turn around Pontiac in Five years or less or the hammer was going down on Pontiac. It is amazing how Pontiac went from near death to major sales player. Obviously iam refering to Pontiac U.S.A. not our Canadian Pontiac. Pontiac was never in trouble here in Canada, as a matter of fact Pontiac Canada many years out sold Plymouth, Ford and some years in the sixties out sold even Chevrolet in Canada. When you look at the glorious past of Pontiac in Canada and the U.S. it is very sad to know Pontiac is gone now. Long live the 1957 Pontiac. Cheers. George.

As I recall my father purchased as tinting kit from Canadian tire to make his parking lights amber on the 55 Bel Air. It was deemed as a safety upgrade back then.
