Yes, just way in hell gone past S'toon, it'll cost me $200 in diesel just to drive up and look and then the drive back. I'll call and see if he gets into Saskatoon often. If I can get it dropped off at my head office, then it won't be a bad deal.
I drove to Kentucky for my bike (04 Harley, now a 2010 Custom), to Kansas City for my boat (21' Donzi Regazza) and Hamilton for my 69 Camaro. Had the 67 Mustang shipped from Detroit and traded the 69 Firebird for a 57 Chev to a guy in Calgary. I am far from scared to go for a drive to get what I want, but it has to be worth it.
In my books a 455 core is worth between 300 and 500 bucks at my doorstep. Dropping $200+ in fuel and a day of my time was not worth it.
Yes I can relate. I've never had to go a long distance but have gone to look at a few that were much better in the pictures and on the phone than in person. I did one time thank the individual for wasting my time. All the long distance buys were an exceptional deal and if they were turds the parts would have covered off expenses.
