I just came back from a nice long cruise in my SS427 convert - (yes the top WAS down the whole time) to an email from the seller advising that the convert in Toronto is "no longer available".
I hope the new owner gets in touch.

THATS A NICE IMPALA , AND THEY DONT APPEAR OFTEN , IS THAT 427 RATED AT 385 HP , OR A MISTYPE TO BE REALLY THE 390 HP VERSION OR GM OFFERED BOTH ????
After 1966 GM corporate brass decreed "not less than 10 lbs per h.p.", so with that the 390 horse became 385. You could get a big Chevy with a big block that weighed less than 3900 lbs. For 1969 the weight went up with the door beams, ignition / transmission interlock with the backdrive, so 390 h.p. was now koshur to the brass.
..Really, no change on the engine.
