Manitoban in a Yankee Pontiac

After searching for a mid 60's GTO and realising project was out of my price & time range I found a '62 Bonneville. Came equipped with 389 4 Barrel/auto. Its and older resto and will need some love. Plans are to get it on the road this summer then build a sleeper that will blow the doors off my brothers '67 Mustang. An injector snapped off in my truck and did some major damage when I was on my way to pick it up. The car is sitting South Dakota at the moment and any help or suggestions with a reliable transport to get it to Pembina, North Dakota would be appreciated. Cheers

Todd, I'm near Morris and might know someone who can help. Where are you located and where is the car located?

Hi the car is in Mitchell, SD. I am just up the road in Ste Agathe behind the bright orange house smile. The car can be driven onto a hauler. I was planning to drive it home from Pembina shipping. The problem with the shipping companies I have contacted is they can not commit to date and the elderly gentleman I purchased the car from is out of town a lot.

Also welcome from the Okanagan valley. Looks like if the roads were bare you could just fill her up with gas and drive it home.

Hmm, trying to think where the orange house is. North side of town or south side?

You would prefer enclosed I'm thinking, now that I looked at the pictures. I can't think of anyone who has an enclosed trailer.

I am on the north side of town. I was going to use an open trailer its far from being shown at the world of wheels. The car looks great from 20 feet away or 20 Mph.

Then I might know someone who can do it. I'll ask.

I picked it up this morning in and drove it across the border. The tires had a bad case of dry rot from sitting so long I managed about 10 miles before my first blow out. I picked 4 new tires up at a tire shop before heading on the road while my wife maid numerous cheapskate comments for not having the car shipped to Canada. The heater died about 20 minutes later and I ended up wrapping a blanket around my legs to prevent frostbite. When I did get it going it was like driving on a cloud. With all the vacum leaks in the engine and 120k miles it still has some serious power. Just ran the engine number and it is the factory 303hp 389. Some electrical, drivers floor pan, possibly redoing the heads should not be a problem having this ready for summer.

Welcome aboard! Gotta love the adventures getting an old car home. My Beaumont isn't home yet, but what can go wrong on a 30 min drive? lol

Welcome form another Yankee Poncho owner. Nice looking car, I had the 8 lugs on my 64 Catalina but broke a steel liner in one of them. Switched over to the 5 stud & couldn't believe the change it made. SMOOTH!! Yours[62] has Ball Brgs in the frt. hubs so make sure there greased regularly!! Sounds like minor work to be done ENJOY!! Pete
