I have a chance to pick up a 60 pontiac wagon. The fellow says it may need some front floor work and rockers but the rear looks solid other than the dent in the rear tailgate and the window only goes down halfway. From the pics it looks like it may need some front lower fenders maybe a p.s rear door.It is an inline 6 car but thats not important since i would hot rod this one this time as i have the stocker 54 laurentian. It could come with another 60 four door and i can probably pick up both for about 2500.Are the doors on the four door compatable with the wagon? Are their body parts availible on ebay or other sources. My plans would probably include a 455,auto trans swap, air bag suspension, leave the body mostly stock except for new paint. The interior would have to be redone but supposedly the 4 door has a new interior in it.LMK and i'll see if i add another poncho to the stable.
For the floor you could modify a 59-60 Chev , they are available and with a bit of modifications, they will work. I can't recall exactly what the difference was, but its slight. As for the rockers, if the 4-door is good, you should be able to use those. The tailgate, well thats a poncho only piece and you'll have to find another one or try and fix the one you have, the inner workings, like the window winder are the same as the chev, as is the glass. The fenders from the 4-door will be the same, the rear doors will not. the roofline on the wagon makes the rears doors square and the 4-doors will curve down. Every once in a while parts do come availiable for these, Ebay, Kijiji ETC Notice the difference in the rear doors...
