It takes time ,lots of time but you are doing a nice job. Body work is all about patience and yup ask people who know. Keep the progress reports coming everyone loves a restoration story. love that body style.
Looking great! You couldn't resist putting some bling on it already!

Baby steps.. repaired some wonderful 70's back yard body work... actually,,, it probably survived for 5 years before cracking out .... galvinized tim, with some sort of lino piece riveted in .. then plastered the filler over.
pulled the front clip off. It's the easiest way to rempove the louvers ... how many cars have you seen with that clean of steel ...NICE !!!
The 67 GTO hood had a huge teardrop hoodscoop riveted in place ..

Like you said "baby steps", but it's looking better all the time.
Was your template the expensive 24 type or the least expensive 6 type?

here is the fit comparison with a jobber insert on an original hood.... no interchange here... have to keep jobber with jobber ....and original with original..
heater box is installed, repaired the bottom fender bolts, both were borken and seized..zipped cut out the captive nut, drill and tap... re weld ...and bob's your uncle... ( if it only it happened that fast ! )
since I was installing the heater box, the dash controls had to be fixed... might as well take the whole dash out .. I have one in better shape with a dash tach anyways...
I've realized I am really good at taking things apart !!!
