RE: Skirts or no skirts!

Yup, I think the combo of skirts and the biggest meats I can stuff in there will be the way to go!

I have them on my 2+2 and I can tell you skirts always turn heads! Keep the skirts.

Cheers

Skirts are ugly. They do nothing for that beautiful car.

Could an 8" rim with 4.5 BS work? I know on
'66+ A-bodies, the 8 inch wheel with 4.5" BS (zero offset) works very well. I know some even run 10" with 5.5" BS (still zero offset), but for 15" wheels, you have to grind the shock mount a little. Larger diameter wheels will clear the shock mount. (Note this assumes you have the correct rear end in the car).

I'm not as familiar with B-bodies. I imagine it'd work great without the skirts, but I can see it might be tight with the skirts on. I built a jig to measure it all up to get the right BS - it was fairly easy.

Still, I think it'd look pretty sweet.

im not sure if a narrower rim would do it, A bodies have more room because the springs are mounted on the axle as apposed to the control arms of the B bodies, the tires fit but cornering causes rubbing

I would agree except for two things:

1. This car, more than most, seems to have been made for skirts.  (It was sort of a last peak as skirts did not last too many years after that.)   If fact I'd like to know what the last year for skirts was...

2.  I'm about to post a picture of  255-60-15 in a rallley wheel stuffed inside the skirts of this thing to get one last thumbs up or down. STAY TUNED!

I vote skirts. Classy! Love the look on my '69 Parisienne as well. With original size wheels and rubber there is just too much wheel well showing without them, IMHO.
