After finishing the Convert last year and putting on a lot of Power Tour and driving miles......I decided that the weak point of the car was the stock bench seat......even though the seat had new seat buns installed at the upholstry shop.....it just didn't cut it for long distance driving......so, I started looking around for a aftermarket seat and it's seems that nobody was making one for the "Big" cars......started looking for a Strato-Bench......(Education Time)....LOL.....Bought one off Ebay and the lower frame was rotted away and unuseable....So........Not knowing the difference....I bought a standard power bench thinking I might be able to use the lower seat frame and piece it together with the strato seat backs from seat #1..........(More Education).......Not even close.....But.....The power seat tracks and power assy mechanisms were in perfect condition.......So......It ended up that I bought another Strato-Bench from a member here that was out of a 4 door car.........and out of the three seats I was able to piece together one good power Strato-Bench........Now.....Because the Strato wasn't a option in 66.....I had to get covers and seat buns made by a local shop......After all the effort it is finally in and installed....Took it for a ride today and it is a 100 times more comfortable that the stock bench........Anyhow.....Here are some pic's
Not sure what seat was used for the finished seat shown, but it looks identical to the front seat in my 67 Toronado. Arm rest and all the side trim. Looks great. Brian
