nice car i wish my 63 had those buckets and consel . also would love to find a dash clock like that for mine . i also thought that what they were asking for it was a bit low but hey who am i to say, but if it were mine i would be asking abit more north of that

I do not know how to determine where posting members are located but if anyone is close to this car, I would be a potential buyer depending on the condition of inner wheel wells, undercarriage and trunk pans.

I tried to email for additional pictures.

It sure looks to be a bargain.  63 SD's are very rare to see.   If the car is solid, I would guess this car to be valued over 10G.

beautiful.......i had never saw those consols from so close , those are 62 63 64 ??

i seriously wonder if the buyer is going to yank a small block in that one , original s d s are quite rare.

I didn't think 62 came with a console. Buckets yes but only column shift.

I've been known to be wrong before..........!

You are correct, no console in 62, column shift.  SD and SS both started in 63 and included the console.  Same one used in 64, design changed in 65.

I have been emailing with the seller and the car is not solid.  I have trunk photo's showing rust repair needed in inner rear wheel wells and drop-offs.  I do not have pics of the pans or toe board area's.  The corrosion I see looks like the result of driving and if that is so, it usually follows that the floor pans and bottom of the firewall would have rust. If the car had a trunk leak, the corrosion might be on one side or the center trunk pan but it is not.  It is on both sides.

I need to get the data plate info in order to verify color codes.  The car was painted years ago and the exterior may not be original color.  Still considering the purchase if I can ship it to Ontario via rail.

I really like that car - sad to hear it's not quite as perfectly solid as I'm sure we all hoped it would be. Still, that price seems decent and leaves room for some repairs. We all think that price is fantastic but the market for these is very small... very esoteric. Perhaps only us guys here really want it and understand the value! I betcha $7k would bring it home....

I received an email the price was lowered to $7500.  The car is over 2000 miles from me and the pictures are not near complete.  There were 2029 2 dr hardtop's built in 63 and it is estimated maybe 10-15% were SD's.  I generally told people I believed after talking to George at Historical Services that my 63 SD was one of 200-300. 

Knowing the rareity of the trim and emblems, I would only be a buyer if everything was on the car.  The pics do not show the quarter panels, so are the SD emblems in place on both sides?  The pics do not show the top of the driver side fender, is the spear on that side?  Is the grille correct and have the SD emblem there?  I did verify that the Z03 code is on the data plate which is the proof postive this car was built with the SD option.

I would own it if I could drive to see it in person or if someone could provide answers to my questions.  I still have a gut feeling the floors will need work in addition to the trunk area.

Love that console and shifter..

Which appear to be exactly the same as the ones I saw in a 63 Impala SS that I saw on the weekend. Love how as an auto it looks like it's a stick shift..

 If u are really interested I could look at it, Not that up on model, but could take camera and get extra shots.

I live approx 30 minutes from Vic, depending where about it is. Just let me know and I can try and get a hold of seller.
