Finally got a day to work on the 54 and made some progress.First of all got the new ignition switch in and hooray the car now turns over. When i had a good look at the old one noticed the solenoid post has come loose so no contact inside anymore i suspect. Then it was on to getting it started after the long winter.I cleaned out the tank last year but obviously didn't get all the gunk as i had about a 1/4 inch of gunk in the fuel bowl at the carb.Took it apart and cleaned it out.It did put up a bit of a fight and i was kinda nervous about breaking the glass but in finally came apart without tearing the gasket.Put it back together and about ten turns later she fired right up.happy,happy,happy.Next was to install the new trunk lock assembly i found this winter and finally the new nos rear bumper along with the re chromed bumperettes and crossbar.Tomorrow if all goes well i will do the front bumper and a few more goodies i picked up over the winter.
