Up date for today. Didn't get to do much as I was working with the airtankers on a couple  fires.  However I did hook up the oil pressure and temp sending units and gauges and they seem to work great. Very Cool indeed thanks again to Carl S!  I removed the old aftermarket gauges and that cleans up the dash quite nicely. Took it for a bit of a drive in the dark and most of the dash lights seem to be working with varying degrees of illumination.  Signals lights are kind of working so have to chase bad bulbs and or grounds.  I have it rebooked for Monday to get the windshield in so I better have it sorted by then.

Not fair Ken! I haven't even started mine up to see my gauges work yet!

Home stretch by the sound of it there buddy. Is it coming east in 2013?

Boy I wish I could say it's done. I've only been able to grab an hour or two every once in a while with other stuff getting in the way, big time lately  However finally have most of the d circuits working.  I should be able to finally get the windshield inon Thusday.

Scored this today too!  Too bad they could only do 7 letters.

That's ok Ken, I think "Grand" sums it up rather nicely!

Beautiful.

Is that your a/c vent that is on the bottom of the dash just to the right of the steering column? Would love to fit a custom a/c to my car and would like to know where I should locate the vent(s). Is that the only a/c vent?

Hi its factory AC and there are 5 vents. One in the dash pad on the top of the dash, two at the edges of the dash lower down and two under the dash.  if I can find a picture i took of the thing when it was together I'll post it.

Still working(too slowly) on it by the way.

ALL RIGHT!   I've been wanted to send this message ever since I joined this forum in 2008.    I got it to the point where it passed the Out of Province inspection today Wahoo!  Tomorrow I drive it on the road without having to sneak around.

Still have to fix sticky tranny, put in radio, install exhaust tips, replace a brand new but already screwed ball joint, fix one power window, a bit of weather stripping and minor trim adjustments (like power window switch) and get AC working and get buckets refinished (Probably next year for those two)

Here are pics of it washed and clean for its first legal trip.  Pretty darn exciting I must say.

Congratulations, Ken. Your Grande looks awesome. Gotta love those wheels, too. There is still plenty of summer left to go cruisin'. Enjoy! You've earned it.

Ken, I don't know if you made my day or ruined it! (Kidding, of course...)

I am torn between jealousy and being thrilled for you that it's to that point. (And of course, kidding, about the jealousy, I think...) What an amazing car. Seeing it with the few cool extra factory toys added makes it that much cooler.

That thing is gorgeous. It feels like it's 1966 all over again looking at those pics.

That is great there Ken. It is funny as I have followed your story and enjoyed the various happenings I also have a smile on my face for you as you have gotten it to that stage. You are going to find yourself in many great conversations whenever you pull into various parking spots. Enjoy.

Thanks guys.   The reason it took so long was I didn't want to cause Carl any conflicted emotions, not because I'm lazy or anything

Its great to have the extra stuff on there that it didn't come with  and i was able to find lots of it  because of the guys on this forum.

Now to cut the door panels for the eight track speakers and it'll be perfect!

Looks awesome Ken! What's more awesome though, is that you included the 2 '67 Grandes in that last pic just for me! Thanks, buddy, old pal, old chum! You will have to stop in as your cruzin' by...

You bet I will Vince!  I must say, those 67's certainly were valuable for contributing parts for the 66, but I'm sure you've done the same in reverse eh?

Glad to see you finally taking on the personality of your avatar, Mr. Stevenson! (lol) And since that comment is pointed directly at myself, who wouldn't want to increase the their '66's value? But with all the value added from the '67's, the end result is still like putting lipstick on a pig!!!!  wink

Never a good thing when livestock are referenced in a posting about cars...LoL!!

Actually, no.... I only have the two '66's  and what I did need was '66 specific! One think I do have to do with the Laurentian wagon is to install a '67-'70 steering box... The one that's on her is wayyyyy to sensitive. One flick of the wheel and she will go lock to lock! On the 'Strato, I converted her to p/s but with one off of a BB 4-dr Bel-Air, I believe... The powertrain was missing... We ALL know where that ended up........
