Power steering?

67 Parisienne, 396 325HP with a TH400

Flushed the tranny and switched it over to Royal Purple, did the same for the oil changed timing change cover gasket to clean up any and all leaks.

Last summer I ran a couple bottles of Lucas Power steering fluid in the reservoir.

New belts topped up fluid, same thing when you start it up slow transfer from manual steering to Power assist. And when you take the time to notice when you shuther down with the hood up she will shoot a stream from the vent hole on the reservoir cap that will shoot clear on up and hit the hood when it is in the up position.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I am up against?

I'd say the pressure valve that screws in where H/P hose threads in is "Nackered" Easy to change & where I'd go 1st. if not that, then you have a problem in the pump vanes. Check the valve 1st!! Pete

Hmmm..

Did you drain the system and check the power steering lines before adding the Lucas fluid? It is pretty thick stuff...so I'd be making sure there is no blockages anywhere....
