So the old girl was killing my battery and I had a spare one so I swapped them thinking my battery was pooched ?....but sure enough a few runs later this one was drained! Checked the voltage regulator and it seemed fine (but I know nothing about them). So took the generator and regulator to FoxCraft in Barrie to have them tested and sure as $h!t the generator is pooched!!! Really pissed off cuz the guy who sold me the car knew it but didn't warn me ......GOOF !furious Anyways now Im on the hunt for another one or have this one fixed. If anyone can help or direct me to someone who can I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh ya ....its a 54 straight six. Negative ground.

Try Morton Alternators/tarters in Orillia. They should be able to do a quick rebuild.

So the guys at Foxcraft found me a good re-built GM Delco generator for $350......guess that a good deal ?

I know this may be out of your way but you can try Berry Starter and Alternator 711 Rye St. Unit C Peterborough
705-742-4905, he got me a voltage regulator at a good price you can use my name he should remember me

I would look for someone to rebuild the old one if you have not got the new one yet. I know in Winnipeg you could get it rebuilt for about$ 100.00.

I have a 53 Catalina.  Always had problems with weak lights, so I had a shop in Alliston Ontario build a 6 volt alternator for my car.  It's not original but nobody gives me the finger anymore because they can't see my tail lights and signals.

Everything is still 6 volt but I can drive at night.

Just my 2 cents.
