All Canadian Final at the 348/409 Shootout

We had the 61 Pontiac and the 55 Chevy at 348/409 Shootout this past weekend. Good luck was on our side and both cars made it through to the finals. (photo by Jim Madigan)

It was a really close race but the 55 Chevy got the win. By the way, the race was only 1/8th mile.

Here's a link to a video of the race...

Were there any 348's that run down the track ?

There has been 348's in other years but I think it was all 409's this year.

We used to have a stroked 348 in the 55 Chevy. That engine ran really good but then the cam went and we transfered all the parts into a 409 block.

The 348, stroked to 437ci actually ran more mph than the 476ci 409 but the 476ci 409 ran a slightly quicker et.

The best et with the 348 was 10.37 @ 129mph and that was in hot weather so I'm sure it would have run a tenth or more quicker in cool air.

it this year but the 63 was not quite ready.............

As per your thread on Bob's 409 site, maybe we can get it going for Kansas City in 2014
