The best proof would be from GM Canada Vintage Vehicle Services, whatever your documents show will be the all the proof you need. Of course GMVVS can't lie for you.

I never did ask when i got the Beaumont ownership done but i do have old insurance paperwork that says Beaumont Custom with no mention of Chev. or Pontiac. I should have checked to see if that would have qualified. The papers are from 67 and 68 and the insurance company saw fit to classify it as such.

Why bother?   It doesn't affect the value or History or the way it runs

you'll have better luck changing your sex on your drivers licence from M to F

MTO  computers will all say Pontiac as brand....

A v.i.n. correction letter is available from a P.A.V.E. licensed appraiser in Ontario - a break down of the v.i.n. by the appraiser would clarify the vehicle to be an Acadian instead of a Pontiac - recommending the correction - Your owner's manual shows it as an Acadian also - these are a couple things you could present to the GM dealer to have them write yet another supporting letter. In Ontario the letter from a P.A.V.E. licensed appraiser is sufficient - no letter from the dealer required.

I wish you luck. I tried at my agent and there was no way for them to enter it in the computer without it being a Pontiac. It was either call it a Pontiac or don't register the car...

And just to show how screwed up MPI computers are, when I got the registration for my Acadian I had them look up 67 Acadian, there was 1 listed a Canso 4 door. For the 2 dr it had to be registered as a Pontiac Acadian. Now doesn't that make a whole lot of sense..............no
