Unfortunately the 396 was bored out for racing and is now blown and irreparable. So I am looking at a 350 out of a Chevy 1/2 ton, Only has 1000 klms fuel injection? or if possible I may look at the original. I believe it was a 283. If I can find one.

Cool car, and it's always nice to have a father son project in the works! If the car has a 396 in it, and all the brackets etc are there, you would be better off going with a 454 platform and taking advantage of some additional cubic inches... all a 396 does is add weight!lol
