Geez,  sorry if i offended anyone,  i have 65 parts to sell,  i listed them on here,  if you need any of them speak for them,  but like i said,  most of them were large parts that are impossible for me to ship.  The other things you asked about i either didnt have  or were in bad shape.

I am extreemely busy with work in the summer,  so if someone wants to pick up parts thats fine,  but i dont have time to run all over trying to get shipping quotes or drop things of miles away at greyhound, or UPS, and spend hours doing so.  I have a real job,  im not in the used car parts business.

Here was tylees list:

Rad support.... too big to ship,  told you that

Valence...to big to ship, told you that

Grill...... too big to ship, told you that

Park lenses,    dont have them

Dash knobs,  dont have them

Dash hardware,  dont have it

 Rocker chrome,   dont have it

Rocker extensions,  dont have them

I Do however have a mint pair of beaumont fender emblems,  that i would have been contacting you about eventually ,  as well as some decent eyebrows, but they have some tab broken at the bottom.

The hockey sticks you stated as "if they are in good shape",   i figured id post them on here as they are not mint.

Anyway,  thats the way i see it,   i dont have any beef with anyone.

I will not twist your arm to stay but I for one would prefer that you would.

Not every experience in dealing with cars and parts will be positive. There will always be times when things don't work out as we wish.

However, whatever decision you make, from my experience, it's certainly best not to burn any bridges.

And there are often multiple folks on here that would be interested in the same items, therefore instead of "playing favorites" it's often more fair to post and let the chips fall where they may.
Worth noting that this is the most "civil" site I have ever seen. I do think you would miss the resources here as much as we would miss you.
Hang in there Ty!

(3) Be patient.  By now, you must realize that Beaumonts are particularly rare cars, whos production numbers are miniscule in comparison to the number of Chevelles that were made.  You might have to wait to find just the part you are looking for.  Also, check sources for Chevelle parts when they are not Beaumont-specific (i.e. mechanical, chassis, inner body structures, etc.).

Exactly. I've waited and waited and waited for the right part/s. I have want ads on several sale sites (even though I have most of the parts I need for now, I leave the ads up).

I've also scoured tons of sites weekly for parts (still do occasionally).

I've dealt with guys in Colorado, Alabama, and all across Canada for '64 Parisienne parts. I've dealt with many, many guys on this site, and they have paid off big time.

PEI is a VERY hard place to find parts for Canadian Pontiacs, Beaumonts, Acadians of any year, but I've even been able to scrounge up '64 parts here... even a NOS quarter patch panel, and whole parts car.

So ya, patience is key, and don't be afraid to put your "wants" out there. It pays off.

Here's one of my want ads (I've had it up for almost 3 years): http://www.usedpei.com/classified-ad/WANTED-1964-Pontiac-Parisienne-1964-Chevy-BelairImpala-PartsParts-Car_13540535

It's your decision Ty, but you will only be cheating yourself to leave this board just because a parts deal doesn't work out the way you want it to.

Since you "put it out there", here are my thoughts on the matter from the information presented in this thread:

(1) This is probably the only source of good Canadian Pontiac, Beaumont, Acadian, etc. knowledge... anywhere!  Burning bridges here will be a big loss... to you.

(2) As mentioned, most people who have parts to sell on this site are hobbyists, not parts dealers.  They all have busy lives, including work, family, etc.  Plus, this being Canada and all, our summer car-hobby season is short, so we have to get out there and enjoy it while it lasts.  So if somebody doesn't jump to satisfy your needs at the drop of a hat, you will just have to understand that this is the situation and accept it.  Besides, there are people who do this as a business and I think you would be doing yourself a favour by supporting them - Tin Man is one of them - send him a message and I'm sure he will help you...

(4) I regularly read a number of car and hobby related forums out there, and this is one of the most civil I have ever seen.  There are a few flare-ups every now and then but they are few and far between.  Most other boards have them on a daily basis and the mods have to be on them full-time.  Enjoy the site for what it is, but chill out a little and you will benefit from it greatly.

Take all this into consideration and I'm sure you'll decide to stay.  Make sure you post some pics of your project as it progresses!  smile

wow, I'm almost speechless! This forum is pure gold, by far the best car site I've ever been on. No peeing contests, no making you feel dumb for lacking knowledge or know how. And somebody wants to check out just because a deal didn't happen? Have you been on craigslist lately?!? Its actually amazing when a deal does happen. If you can't see value in this site, then maybe you shouldn't be here.

I have to echo Nailheads sentiments. I'm amazed at the number of regular members who have left over the past 5 years because of one comment or one member. To each their own I guess.. While the moderators and myself try very hard, we can't please everyone.

Holy cow why is this guys shorts in such a knot. I pm'd a member about some parts in April and heard nothing back he was away and could not get his messages, today I heard back from him but I'm not ready to give up on CP because of no replys, I even bugged the hell out of his wife with calls and messages on their answering machine, and she was very polite and explained her husbands situation to me. Thanks Laurie I think thats your name but if not thanks Ricks better half and Rick you know who I'm talking about..Sometimes less is better... A member for the last couple of months and really appreciate this site and have made a donation to the site Todd and every one has been great so if you are not happy by all means leave and you will not likely be missed by too many..  Agreed! Ty, as a fellow American brother, let me in on the places where all of the Canadian Pontiac parts are stashed here in the States!confuse You DEFINITELY have to be patient with finding parts for these cars! Don't leave the best and maybe only resource of parts and information for these cars! Now put down the knife.....
