power train up grade

If I buy this 66 pont Parisienne Custom Sport with a 327 in it, Can I just swap out the tranny and engine for a turbo 400 and 396? Will all the mounts line up?

Would I have to take the Driveshaft and rear end and swap the whole line?

Sorry  - Iam an electronics guy. found a reasonable 327 SC and at the same time a 396 system in a basically rusted out car. Rebuild them both and stick them in and I have the car I want. If it will work.

I cant believe they would change chassis stuff to accomidate the different engines - but I dont know for sure. Hope somewill know out there.

Lloyd

Wouldn't you just use the crossmember from the donor car for the trans mount? Driveshaft too if it's a big car?

My memory suggests that while the motor mounts are the same for both big and small blocks
in shape and the way they bolt up and such the actual big block mounts are/were heavier duty ?
