Our fuel sucks, ethanol blend evaporates so fast, and drys out the accelerator pump and carb gaskets. Try adding fuel stabilizer to your tank. this will slow the evaporation. Hobbie cars need to be treated like seasonal toys that they are. fuel stabilizers and oil additives are becoming the norm now.

Exactly.
What you described Steve happens with my car. I start it up only periodically, and it always needs priming to cut down on all the cranking and pedal pumping.
Once it has been run, there is no problem starting it within a reasonable time period.

How effective is your choke? Lots of times they don't go into the full choke position and then aren't effective. If they go completely closed it should help draw the fuel up and you should be good to go. I have to help my choke sometimes as it sticks and doesn't fully engage and it will turn over for ever but if I just give it a little nudge to engage she fires right up. Might be worth checking.
Install an inline electric fuel pump close to the gas tank and use a toggle switch and turn on when trying to start and then shut it off and run on your original fuel pump. With this you may find that you do have a leak sucking air into the fuel line.
Stabilizer is only good for about 9 months I find. Your gas is gone bad in 2 years time.
How much gas do you have left in your tank? You need some fresh gas.
