usually on a car older than 15 years...  he has to have a appraisal.....     He would have NOT paid any tax yet....

So they don't go by what is shown on the transfer papers unless it looks too low?

         All new vehicles have a Buyers Package for $20.00  it has a wholesale figure you can get bill made out to that level  

        anything older  (anything) requires a appraisal  (private sales only)  13% tax

So unless he is a dealer he is going to have to eat 13% of the appraised value at some point.

          no  not really   as long as he doesn't want to register it   If he gets tired of trying to sell it  he will have to pay   The seller works for Ministry of Transportation  (go figure)

Yup that's the Chevelle! Guess the guys comment about "recent"pics can be exaggerated a bit, that was Bothwell last year with my daughter sitting beside the car.
