FOR SALE: RECHROMED 1965 PARISIENNE REAR BUMPER.

This is a rechromed rear bumper that came with my big buy of 65-66 Pontiac parts. It was definately on a car since plating because it has a few very minor rubs but is perfectly straight and solid. I can send this in the mail if anyone is interested. Price is $600. plus the ride. Thx.

Curiosity got to me so I just got off the phone with the bumper platers in Vancouver and he said, " You supply your own bumper and providing it doesn't need any repairs or major straightening, price would be $1,000.-$1,500."  which I can only imagine must mean closer to the $1,500. mark. Here, you get the bumper and the chrome for a less than a third. Cheers.

Oh man! If it were a '67 I'd make you an offer! I'm researching chroming both bumpers after the summer season.

It was $1800 to get the front 3 piece bumper for a 55 Laurentian rechromed in Ontario or Quebec. Both Cambridge custom chrome and a shop near Montreal came up with the same price.

Wow, this surprises me, I really thought this would go at least. I couldn't sell the NOS (ish) dog dish hub caps, I couldn't sell the 65 Custom Sport emblems, couldn't sell the NOS spinner hub caps but I believed I'd break the streak with this. Guess I'll have to ask Todd for a reduction in Poncho Sponsership costs.

Mail or bus are both quite reasonable for shipping. I'm amazed sometimes at the deal that Canada Post is.

Please don't give up Dave. As mentioned, not a great time to sell right now. I've noticed I always have much better luck selling stuff once there is a hint of winter coming.

Oh not to worry Carl, you guys are stuck with me a while longer (well at least another year, I just sent off another cheque). Besides if I gave up because something didn't sell right away, well, I'd probably be a doctor or lawyer or some other mis-direction of life profession and be rich and retired by now, and why would anyone want that???????? Besides BowTie Restorations is buying the bumper, I just have to send them a couple more pix tomorrow. Custom Sport emblems anyone? How 'bout some really nice dog-dish caps? Gold Rolex watch.....(made in China).

I for one am happy to see you sponsoring for another year Dave, thank you.

And also good to see you haven't lost your sense of humour just because sales are slow!

You know how it is. You have a white elephant for sale. Nobody wants it. Finally someone buys it and suddenly everyone is calling your to see if you by ANY chance have a white elephant for sale...

For all you 65 owners, it wouldn't hurt to have a nice spare bumper. All it takes is for some Jerk to roll into the back of you for you to realize that you should have bought this bumper!

I've sent some pretty big/fairly heavy items via Canada Post (a complete power window set-up and a '64 Impala SS 4 speed console). Roger Rabbit once sent me a complete power steering set-up (the Canada Post counter girl could barely lift it biggrin).

The shipping costs were pretty good (snail mail & no insurance). They do have size/weight restrictions though.

Exactly.

These are the items that you SHOULD have spares of ... not just a bunch of 4-speed consoles and tachometers!biggrinwink

I have 2 rear bumpers and a front bumper in pretty good shape in my Mom's basement in Ontario (thanks to DualQuadPete). I'll have to get them next year.

My existing rear bumper on my car is dented-up, my front is good.

Well, yes and no! As I mentioned in a previous post, Bowtie Restorations in Langley, B.C. have someone quite interested but I haven't heard the "SOLD" gavel hit the block yet. I just tried calling them (3x) to get a aye or nay on it, just so I don't ruffle any feathers and theres no answer. So I'll go out on the limb and say yes its still available. As for shipping cost from Vanvouver Island to you in Ontario, insured for value of $600, I would "Guess~timate" because of the oversize and weight, about $75.-$85. But whatever the cost is what I charge. Please also bare in mind that because you live in Ontario, I also have to charge you 13% HST.
