Parker and I were gone all day yesterday to Minnesota to buy a boat lift. It just so happened (wink, wink) that the boat lift we bought was no more than 15 miles from my favourite auto wrecking and our route took us within about 50 feet of the front gate... It would be wrong to be there and not buy something!

The hardest part was each of us had to carry a seat about 1/2 mile to the truck. He hides his 66 Pontiacs in the far back corner of the yard.

I hope to take some time this weekend to compare the backs of the regular seat and the armrest seat to see if a guy can convert the regular frame to armrest, or if the armrest seat needs to be used totally. These seat frames have lots of surface rust but I don't see any actual metal rot on either one.

I'll never use it, I refuse to ride in the back of my car...

Strictly want it for the cool factor!

Here's some shots of the two back seats, the conventional seat from the white car and the American Pontiac seat with the armrest.

Not sure, I think it's gonna have to be the entire American frame with Canadian upholstery on it.

Looks like it will fit in the Canadian space though and attach using the same points I think?

I will need a reupholstery job on my front seats soon (maybe over the winter) so even if the second one is tattered it won't matter I'll just include it.

I'll take it at whatever price you ask, (he said with his fingers crossed).

I may ride in the back once or twice just to feel the luxury! (Course that'll have to be with you driving and the Air on full)

Yes, the attachment part all appears to be identical, except for the black plate in the middle has two slotted holes that are supposed to have bolts through them into a cross piece behind the seat. Our cars have a big air space where those bolt should attach, but that will be very simply to overcome.

Trust me, the price will be right!

I hope to take mine over to my upholsterer shortly. I'll certainly keep this thread alive as I have any other updates, ideas or discoveries about doing this.

Never! We just need to start looking for the more obscure options and accessories...
