Quick Question, US Impala, Candian Impala, Same Frame ?

My neighbour has a US built, 1969 Impala SS 427 Convertible that he ordered new.

He tells me that the US Impala frame is the same as in the Canadian Impala.

I had thought different.

If that was true then there would be some southern frames for Poncho B-Bodies

Not that I need one, just wondering confuse

I would believe they are identical but can't prove it.

They're the same.   Why would you think they'd be different?

My 67 ss427 is a US built car and the frame is slightly different at the front where the sway bar bushing retainers bolt on compared to my CDN cars. It doesn't affect anything, no one would even notice really. Could be a AO smith, Budd frame difference as they both built the frames.

Certainly you would think the interchangability would be 100% since they are both B body Chevy. I can imagine that for a Canadian Pontiac maybe a change, but on a Chevy, it would seem odd. As Andrew states, cosmetically there sure could be changes though.

'64 Canadian B-body Chevy/Pontiac X-frames are actually better than '64 American B-body Chevy X-frames. American lowrider fans are all wound-up for Canadian frames because they are boxed better.
