Survivor - 1972 Chevrolet C10 shortbox step-side

I brought this truck up from San Diego to Canada... it has been inspected and registered in Alberta, and I've driven it regularly. The truck runs and drives terrific.  Everything is solid and tight, except it needs new exhaust and could use a tune-up.  It still has mostly original paint and NO RUST. Apparently it has never been used for hard work because it even has its original wooden box floor with original paint (which was once covered by a canopy) and the tail gate is straight as an arrow. Glass is all perfect and rockers/cab corners are solid and original.   It is equipped with its original factory 350 4-bbl motor, original smog equipment, manual steering, 3-speed manual transmission, power disc brakes, radio delete and rally wheels.  I also have an original white/black houndstooth bench seat out of another 1972 that would look great and goes with the truck.

Life has gotten too busy, and this truck has sat in a garage accumulating dust for the past year... so I've decided to let the truck go. Please feel free to PM, email or text me to get additional info.

I've advertised it locally, but hate to see it get hot-rodded like the last potential buyer wants to do.  I think that I've priced it very fairly, and I sure would like to see it go to someone that will maintain and preserve it.  Here is the link to my kijiji ad...

Thanks guys!

The disc brake tailgate emblem was on the 71's.

Here is an amazingly original survivor. This truck spent its life in San Diego. It is equipped with its original factory 350 4-bbl motor, original smog equipment, manual steering, 3-speed manual transmission, power disc brakes, radio delete and rally wheels,

Its never been used for hard work because it even has its original wooden box floor with original paint (which was once covered by a canopy) and the tail gate is straight as an arrow. Glass is all perfect. You'll never see a truck of this vintage with solid original cab corners like these.

Life has gotten too busy, so I've decided to let the truck go. I'm not interested in trades. Serious inquiries only - please email or text me to get additional info or arrange a viewing. Thanks

California only offered 350s that year, the 307s & all big blocks were struck from the option list in the golden state.

Gota love survivors from the sun belt. I wonder if the Stepsides had the Disc Brake decal on the tailgate. The Fleetsides did, as did the Blazer & Suburban. Maybe I am thinking of 1971 when Disc Brakes became the new standard.

In  1973-1977...  our tire shop truck was a 72 GMC long box 350 auto...   it was the fastest stock motor truck around.....   was for sure  a 350 4bbl

Are my expectations out of line? Is $13k too much to expect for a solid rust-free, dent-free, original paint, original drivetrain and fun to drive truck?

It sure took me a long time and a lot of effort to find this truck when I was looking, and I can't remember when I've seen anything comparable. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm no expert but in my opinion I certainly think your price is fair.

I think its right in the market as nice as its is.  I've got a 69 CST 2wd fleetside which is nowhere near as distinctive or cute as yours that I would ask about 15G for.  Course it has a few more options but is also has some rust starting to surface. I think the problem with yours is that it would appeal to guy like us who like the orignal look but the boneheads with the fat wallets like them radical.

The problem is, I am the right guy.... on too many other cars/projects! I've gotta find a new "right guy" for it.

It is a neat truck... new owner won't be disappointed.

I should note that its got a three on the tree.

You made me think though... the truck would be a lot of fun to drive with a four speed floor shift.  I can't believe I'm saying this, but it would be a lot of fun to drive with a four speed floor shift and it would haul a$$... and an easy conversion (although I'd have to ask someone else to cut the hole in the floor because I don't think that I could bring myself to do it).  Any thoughts?

I've got an extra muncie under my bench.  Anyone happen to have a floor shift steering column sitting around?

Ok, I've gotta sell this truck before I start spending money on it.

Thanks for the offer, but it looks like the truck has already found a new owner. He's picking it up on Monday.

Nice ride you got there.
