So due to a leaky heater core I bypassed the core years ago and now I can't remember which hose goes where. Since I'm making things right and installing a working heater core, does anyone have pics of their heater hose routing they could share with me to shed some light on the issue. Thanks in advance.
Oops, forgot to mention that mine's a V8. But the routing should be exactly the same. The only thing is that in your piuc I can't quite make out where some of the hoses go (they hide behind each other), like the hose coming out of the water pump and the hose from the "left 'nozzle' of the little brass doohicky with 2 spouts" that's mounted on the firewall (sorry don't know the proper name of the thing).
The routing is the same for a V8, I pulled the 6 from that car in the pic and have since dropped in a V8.
I don't know what the "doohicky with 2 spouts" Is called either .... heater control valve maybe??
You will have a heather hose that will go from the left side of that doohicky" to the lower inlet on your heater core. The top inlet from you heater core goes to the water pump. The right side of the "doohicky" goes to the manifold.
Thanks Adam, that clears it up. For some reason I couldn't make out the routing when I initially had a peek at the photo at home but on my work comp it seems crystal clear. But it could also be a case of the explanation bringing the photo into "focus". Either way the pic and explanation in unison clear things up. Thanks again. :)
