65-70 B body front springs for sale. BB rate.

I have a pair of nice B body front springs for sale.

2 years in my Gp, a little too hard riding with so little weight up front. And they really can't be used with my Global West front arms. Too Tall.

They are 17.5 inches tall uninstalled (Std 67 GP 4Dr HT high).

Have a wire Diameter of .671 and have 9.5 turns, similar to F40 HD for SBC 67 Big Cp's. But they will obviously be better suited to a BB application.

I estimate them to be at least 360LB rate springs.

$70.

Pick up or I'll ship at your cost.

Mark

Mark, I'm going to need some big block springs for my black car. Is it fair if I ask for a couple of hours grace time until I can check if those are appropriate? I just came inside for a second to check CP but I have to run right back out. We have about 20 kids in the back yard for a bonfire etc (youth group) and I'm helping out with that. I should be free in a couple of hours.

Of Course Carl.

I'll reserve them for you indefinitely... take as much time as you'd like.

Mark, do you happen to have the original part number, or know the installed height?

I'm looking in my charts in the TRW spring book because I have some experience with their springs, and I'm trying to figure out where this one would fit in chart.

They were bought as Moog 6194's Carl.

I'm sure they'll be ideal for your 66.

Shhhhh! I'm working upstairs in a corner of the parts room reorganizing the belts in our lawn and garden parts department, and I need the laptop up here to do some inventory stuff. I just happen to have Canadian Poncho running while I'm working....

I went with Moog 6322's when I dropped the 454 into my 70 convertible.  It's one line above the 6194's in the chart above.  They've held up well over the 7 years I've had the engine in.

Are you happy with the height? I'm a bit concerned these one's Mark has may make my car sit up too high.

Mark, if anyone wants in ahead of me on these, I would say let them go for it.I will step aside to ponder this.

I think these springs would be fine in your car Carl.

With the 160 or so extra pounds of the BB, and excluding using gas charged shocks, the car should sit just right.

Originally I tried to get the 6322's like Clint's, but they were (at the time) not available.

I'll look at this more later tonight then. In the meantime, I will certainly not stand in the way if you have someone who wants them Mark.

The more I read, the more I get confused! I want a spring that doesn't sit too high or too low, and isn't too soft!

I've used the 658A and they weren't too heavy for my automatic GP with a 427 and almost all power options. That car weighed about 4500 as I recall.

It's an important decision that you don't really want to get wrong...too may times!

It's rather a lot of work to keep changing and trying different springs.

But blasting a free spring across the length of the shop does an amazing job of keeping the rubber neckers and looky lous at bay.

Yes,

Make sure you get the ones you want. I'd recommend Eaton Detroit Carl. Off the shelf is a crapshoot imop. Although your BB will probably settle any spring!

The Canadian distributor for Eaton is JH restorations in Tecumseh Ontario. They're really good to deal with, and I'd imagine that if you have the code for the springs in your car now, they can be reproduced by Eaton.

Ring them up.

I'm so undecided on these springs. I haven't had this much trouble trying to figure out exactly what I want/need in a long long time...

I wish someone else would buy them and put me out of my misery!

Problem is, I'm switching from a small block powerglide to a big block 4 speed and adding a bunch of options, power windows and vents, power Strato Bench, (also that 50 lb 66 factory tach!) and more. It's a whole new game.

I guess I need to sit down and figure how much I am actually adding.

Sorry, now I've derailed your for sale thread!
