Is thinking about buying a 66 Beaumont...

 

Just wondering if there are specific Beaumont/Chevelle issues on this body style that he should be keeping in mind when he's looking at the car?

Project or finished car?

Is he aware of what areas to check for rust?

Hot rod, or original? If original, is he educated on what to look for as far as authenticity?

And always, always look at both tags, cowl and vin to make sure they haven't been changed, altered etc. If he's not sure what to look for, get someone to help him who knows, or tell him to post tag pictures here.

          47 year old cars all have the same concerns  

           Rust in cowl  

          rust in floors.. rust in trunk.. rust in fender bottoms...  

          rust in door bottoms...  rust in quarters...  rust in trunk lid...  

          rust in hood front lip...rust in rockers rust in frame    

         other than that..... they are like a Canadian GTO  lol

Sounds like the car MAY have been redone to some degree some time back. My friend has been around GM products a fair bit, but I'll remind him to take pics of the cowl tags and post them...

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

black heart that might be the car out by Portage its my dad's, PM I can get you more details on it. But this car will need a full restoration. THe main parts which are hard to find like grill, taillights, are all in good shape.

This car was apparently taken on a partial trade.. still waiting on pics but I'm told it's in the city or just outside....
