Aftermarket Cruise control

Has anyone had success with an aftermarket cruise control ..  Many years ago I had one and it worked great but the car had extensive body work and a frame swap and the cruise got left out after the rebuild.

The current on that I have, only the stalk is part of the turn signal lever and the switch was on the top of the lever

Considering having another cruise installed while the engine work get done.

Here is an old photo

I've been considering buying an old (from the 80's) Sears unit and putting it on one of my cars.   They had the yellow (or sometimes other color) plastic module that mounted under the dash.   I figure for a couple hundred bucks it's worth a try.    Typically they had the external switch that mounted onto the turn signal lever.

I put a cruise in my 65 Acadian when I had a 427 in it. I have not been a fan of aftermarket cruises, so I went to about a 76 Impala in a wrecking yard and pulled the cruise unit out. If you do that, you'll be amazed. It's an entirely stand alone unit, easy to remove, not integrated with any other components, harnesses etc on the car. Easy to install, looks very original.
