so.. that is cool, I was wondering what the activaton would look like. I will be asking more questions when I look to install the OD tranny in my 55 chevy 150..
yeahh...I'm a hoarder ! BUT ,,,I do have a plan for this .. 261 with dual Fenton carbs and splt cast headers, backed by this 3 spd OD , 3.73 gears in my 55 150 2 dr sedan... not quire Two Lane Blacktop.... but hey.. Big Blocks are boring !

Roger, i like the way you think. That 261 all hopped up will look and run great in your 55 Chev. In case you do not know this already, there are a couple of American outfits that sell all kinds of new speed equipment for vintage GM inline sixes like the 261. There is LANGDON'S STOVE BOLT SIX near Detroit, Mich., U.S.A. and PATRICK'S in Casa Grande, Arizona, U.S.A. Both are very solid companies. thanks for the tips on sourcing the parts, I have already bought the Fenton intake and split cast manifold, and carbs. I think I bought them from Patricks? it was a couple of years ago...
just need to drive 5 hours south to pick up my 261,, havn't been able to find anything local...yet...

This is a real slick setup, and allows for the sue of a stock shifter - this is about hte best way to have an overdriven manual transmission in a vintage car... as long as you are aware of the Saginaw's torque capacity.
