I got home from work today, finally some warmer tempratures, decided to grab the chiefs' keys and after sitting in minus 56 degree windchill weather since last week, gave 2 pumps and away we go, fast idle till warm I feel like a kid with a new toy today...just saying.
Pretty impressive!
That had to be one of the better deals lately for an old Canadian Poncho!

Great to hear (read)! Nice to see when a posting pays off!
Been a while since I posted. update in the 69 Chiefs life.
Been driving her all winter and ran flawlessly. I just found a sister to her on Kijiji Edmonton and am working on buying it now. looks really good body wise and I may just put my attention into it as the Red Chiefs' body is showing more and more of the 28 years of idle time in a pasture. My wife is having a bird over these cars showing up but life goes on..
After dealing with fellow, realized that some people have no morals....fellow thought that my offer was a good one, proceeded to tell me that this car was his brothers and he would talk to him over the weekend and let me know on Monday. all I got monday was a couple of pics of the car pulled from its resting place and telling me that 3 wheels were siezed up....asked me if I was still interested....DAH......yes was my response. then nothing until contacting him the next day. now he decided to hold out for more money, unless of course I wanted to come up to his price.
Now maybe I'm wrong, but the way I do deals is if I agree or imply that a deal would be made to someone and i say I will let them know whats up, I don't think that holding out for more money on something that doesn't even belong to you is right.
So as a result, if anyone in the Edmonton area is willing to deal with this guy, then here is nice looking 69 Chief that is for sale(maybe). I can't deal with this guy.

Sometimes you have to "play the game" Is the car at his price still attractive? don't be penny wise and pound foolish Figure your best price and throw it at him and tell him thats it
One of the guys who was interested offered more than the offer I had verbally accepted but I sold it for the lower offer. I did that because I had promised it to the individual at the lower price before the higher offer came in. (Several hundred dollars I am talking here) Yes it hurts to give up that kind of money, but I learned a lesson about cars and car parts dealing years ago. Money ain't everything! I didn't know either of the individuals, they both live far away, I will likely never have any dealings with either one ever again, but.....
It's unfortunate you had to have this happen to you, but I guess those guys are out there.

Been a while since I posted or have been on the site. thought an update might be good. the red 69 finally showed me that after 32 years in a pasture, something had to go...the tranny pump died. but it was a hard fight.. In the mean time....would you believe while surfing Kijiji in Sask, again.
Dig those groovy exhaust exits! any chance of a pic of them from underside?

65 Parisienne convertible.one of 49 built for RHD export market,402BBC, T400, 2500 stally, posi rear, upgraded brakes with front discs, FUEL FAST efi custom built by me.
A complete right suspension swap out, idler arm, center link, sway bar and a set of front shocks, a pair of 327 motor mounts and removing and moving/welding the trans cross member mounts for the TH400. its finally sitting comfortably in place. Makes me wonder why more of these cars weren't out there with the chevy big blocks....it just seems like a natural fit in there. Shortening the drive shaft is next along with welding in the console mounts out of the 70 2+2. and the steering column change out. the Chief will be pulling out of the garage on its own before to long now.

Canadians were frugal and late adopters of the V8 in Canadian Pontiacs, so cost was a factor. I can still remember a friend's old man saying he got the big engine in their car, Oh ya what is it...a 350 is what he said.
Well it took a while, but it came out of the garage under it's own power on the weekend. A few things to tweak and put together. Need to do a carb rebuild and put the disc brakes in from the 70 should be driving it soon. I started it for the grandsons today, the smile on the face of the oldest was all I needed to know that I had it right. That look he had is not something that you can fake, he is bitten by the old car bug and he's only 12. Perfect....Lol

Reading stories like that puts a smile on my face too! And I'm sure there will be many others with the same reaction.
