14 degrees in the house this morning. Heat pump having a hard time keeping this old farm house warm with -21 temps and -33 windchill. Oil furnace conked out 2 days ago. I think the lines are frozen. Living the dream! If we ever sell our Ontario house I'm buying a nice woodstove for secondary heat. MMMM warmth..

I had to shut down the manual GAS fireplace this morning (upstairs)   The one down stairs has a thermostat    

We  (the dog and I ) were sweating    it was 23 degrees

 

I love  GAS  fireplaces

No Nat gas out here. It gets more fun. The furnace wouldn't reset. My brother-in-law's brother is a furnace guy in Nova Scotia. I called him and he walked me through the diagnosis. Turns out the main control board is the problem. So, I have to get that replaced before I can thaw the oil lines (and bleed the water that is somehow getting into the oil tank). I don't want to put much $$ into it as we just want to use up the oil that's in the tank (1/4) and get rid of it.

Saw another band play at the "Old Belle River Church" tonight. Really enjoyed it. Lots of people there and a lot of food too. The band is called "The Belle Comedians". As you can guess they are a local band who are doing pretty well. One of the members lives just down the road from me. Here's one of their videos.
