I wiped it down real good with alcohol first. I used the 4 part alcohol system, I drank 3 parts and wiped the tank with 1 part.

Just kidding, the little bit of alcohol that goes in my system qualifies me as an abstainer.

I got it   take 1 drink  wipe 3 times  and repeat      The tank coming off and the floor have no  ah   rust    is the gas tank always just metal to  metal ?   don't they sweat and rust ?

I used strips of roofing tar paper between the tank and floor, it was almost identical composition to the original stuff that was in there.
