I want the 66 gurus to study the picture very carefully and if they look real good, they should be able to tell me 2 things about this car.

And Ken ^^^ can't play, he's got inside info on this one!

Back later.

Not a guru on 66's but I'll take a guess....

This American GP is one of the last
421 available with the three two-barrel carb option
that was discontinues after 1966?

Nah, wish it was but it was a 389 car, long gone, some 70's 400 non-runner in it now he says.

My mom told me never to count those unhatched chickens. I've been sitting on this since Sept 9th when I left a deposit on this car about 175 miles away. I should have to been able to bring it home almost right away, but when he showed me the title, I noticed right away it started with an extra 0 and 3 digits from the end was another extra digit, a 7. The real vin doesn't even have a 7 in the entire vin!

Soooo, he figures no worries, I'll apply for a new corrected one, goes in, fills out all the forms with the corrected vin and I wait a month for the new title to arrive. It takes over a month, he emails it to me near the end of October (I'm getting worried the roads will be bad and I don't like pulling on icy roads) and when I look at the new title, guess what................ Yup, same wrong vin again disbelief

So, in he goes, start over, and finally on Monday he emails me the new title with the correct vin. At least they pushed this one through quicker than the normal 30 day waiting period. The seller is a retired deputy, and to say the least, this irked him to pieces!

So my Black Friday shopping was not at a mall.

Anyway, it's a parts car with some neat goodies. I have some shots saved somewhere and I'll post them up a bit later. Meantime, I want someone to get the second half of the trivia! Carl got the first half.

Nope, no power electric options at all, amazingly.

One of the unusual options is in that pic (gotta know what you're looking for) and it will lead you to suspect another very unusual option when you figure out what it is.

But you gotta know your 66 stuff real good, you can't be a "fake" 66 guru....

I forgot about the tinted glass, yes, it has that.

Nope, not one electric power option in the car.

Wish it had the mirror, it WAS a remote.

Air

Tilt, cruise

Low fuel warning

Reverb and power trunk (vacuum, not shown)

Headrests on the buckets

And when you see headrests on a 66 Pontiac with buckets, you look for this.... One of the toughest options I've ever encountered on these cars.

What I was getting at in my initial posts is the headrests are sort of visible in the picture, prompting the "hmm, does it have a recliner????" thoughts for us 66 B body guys!

I got it unloaded and tucked away, on high enough ground that it won't flood (or if it does flood, I have a lot bigger worries than this car!)

Sure is a beaut....! It's even got moss on the north side of the car.

Heh Carl

Very nice score! Those are some very rare options on that car. Never heard of the low fuel thing. They were ahead of the time with that. Can you explain the knob in the speedo glass? I thought that I saw the headrests but didn't know about the reclining seat feature. I can see you are going to have some fun installing those in you ride. Wouldn't have thought the interior would be that good from the look of the outside. Congrats on a great auto.

What a great acquisition!   The part source of all part sources!   Carl is going to have so many options on his car he won't even have to hold the steering wheel himself!

I just hope once he finishes "harvesting" the good stuff he leaves some of the scraps for an old bottom feeder like me.

Michael-

You, Vince and Roger need to either pool your money and send someone, or the 3 of you do a road trip here. I have a transmission for each of them, and there will be GP stuff for you. It would pay for you guys to split a trip!
