Michael-

You, Vince and Roger need to either pool your money and send someone, or the 3 of you do a road trip here. I have a transmission for each of them, and there will be GP stuff for you. It would pay for you guys to split a trip!

cool find Carl!

Well...does it have recline?

I'm sorry, I guess I never replied to this!

Yes, it does, and it works! Some of the wrecking yard ones I've found have been junk or needed MAJOR help to get them working again. They get rusted up solid. Thankfully, this one has been sitting in a shed until a couple of years ago, and when it was outside, all the windows where tight.

.... just read this thread, oh my , now I'm jealous !!! excellent find Carl. Love the options like the power trunk and low fuel light which I've only seen one other ever before. Reverb, you have a 66 tilt now too , etc etc , oh the a/c !! , make sure you check on the inside of the pass fender and see if the americans wrote Air Cond in there like mine and Ken's has. Good you got this one.

I won't be shocked if there's no a/c note on the fender. I am betting that's Canada only with so few made. I would bet at least 10%-20% of all US B body Pontiacs in 66 had air.

I just went out and poked the camera into the inner fender but it looks pretty blank to me.

Passenger side only.

Good point, I have to go look in the Canadian parts book.

Interesting in the parts book. This was the first thing I found searching in the seat parts area-

11.377 RING, SEAT BACK RECLINING CONTROL

9418771 1966/ALL STRATO BENCH SEAT - RIGHT

I know the Strato Bench had it too but does that mean in Canada we could only get it on the bench, not bucket?

I went to the Canadian Caprice parts book and there it had exactly the same thing except it was for model 39 only, which is 4 door hardtop I believe.

Yes, I see that's what's in this one. I won't be using it!

A guy really needs to build a cruise w/gauges setup somehow...

Hey Carl I was wondering if your AC is the manual type like mine or the American only automatic type?

It's the automatic a/c Ken. I've seen US cars with manual like your's but the automatic seems to be very popular in GP's there.

Great, now a regular passenger Strato bucket ain't going to cut it in my 67. Now I'll need "Reclining".

How much Carl? Name your price..lol!

It's not impossible Mark but you're not first on the list I'm afraid....

I'll keep you updated.

And it won't be cheap, I paid good for the car partially due to the recliner. I've seen what they bring and had to grab it. 2 more guys were waiting if I said no.

True, although a guy could convert the seat back style using parts from a 67 bucket, from what I remember.

I recall putting a 67 recliner in my 66 way back when and thinking "this could be done the other way too".
