Metro door weatherstrips


I installed the Metro door weatherstrips on my GP this afternoon, for obvious reasons as the pic shows (my old pieces, brittle, torn, missing etc). No photo shoot cause it's really a simple job with one exception. What have you guys used to push those retaining pins into the holes in the door??? I used my thumb so as not to damage the rubber, and that thumb is killing me about now.

It would have to be something pretty firm but still flexible enough to not cut the seal.

I used my thumb as well...

Did one..took a break..then did the other no problem...but I am WAYYYYY younger than you Carl... LOL!!

Whats the matter with you all, done all my with my thumb, no problem at all. Us British are made of stronger stuff!!

We have lazy thumbs, don't hitchhike much in Canada,but we can put our thumb on most car problems. biggrinbiggrin

i just used the back of a small body hammer anything sharp could peirce this stuff, crazy glue works for repairs
