M21 Shifter compatibility

My question is will the shifter from a late sixties camaro work with my 65 SD providing I had the right consul shift arm, and if not then what other options do I have. Would appreciate any advice on which route to take to get a shifter that will work in the car Thank you in advance.

Some of the shifters will work on both Camaro and Chevelle and Nova (I said some)

with part numbers from your shifter

you will be able to buy the correct linkage KIT

Thank you Carl, but the shifter come's with linkage, does that mean that I can bolt it on my trans, change the stick and be good to go? And to all very Merry Christmas from all of us at our house.

Is it a Hurst? If so, I think it will have numbers on the body and the handle and you can likely find them on Hurst's site if I remember right.

Thanks again guys. I opted out of the Hurst and went with the original Muncie set up just need the tail section from a 4 speed console to complete the package.
