Greetings to the Canadian Pontiac fans. I've been playing with old cars for a long time. I seem to go through a fair number. Getting harder to find parts and get rid of parts, especially for these particular ones. I'm sure most of you know what I mean. Usually when I start a project I buy a parts car or two, but they just aren't everywhere like they used to be.

I just picked up a failed project that's been sitting for years inside. It's a 62 Parisienne convertible. Someone totally stripped it of chrome, repainted it in burgundy, had the chrome all redone, and put most of the pieces back on. I'm in the process of trying to get it registered in my name, as I bought it without papers. The person who bought it years ago never transferred it and used it for a while as a parts car, then the younger brother decided to try and restore it. There are no seats in it, and driver's door panel is missing, but it's an extremely cool looking ride. The rear bumper was inside, still wrapped in paper from the chrome shop, but no bumper brackets. Front bumper also done, on but needs adjusting. Most other chrome also redone. Inside pillar moldings still wrapped in paper from chrome shop. Trunk floor and floor pan have been patched abd painted black. Under the hood is all painted including the engine. Can't even fire it up, as there's no exhaust system. Frame has some rough patches.

I don't want to spend any more money on this until I see if I can get reg. I go Friday to the insurance place. My 30 day registered letter adventure will be up then, and we'll see what the next step is. At least it's a BC car. The last record of it is an AirCare inspection 14 years ago. Would hate to part this one out. Keeping my fingers crossed !!

Welcome here. That sounds like a great project that I know we'd all love to see pictures of, even in pieces.

It's in a tight place, but I'll see what I can do this morning. Is there a way to have this forum e-mail us when we get a reply?

Friday should be the day. I bring the stub from the registered letter to the insurance office, and we'll see from there. It's always an adventure.
