Thanks Rog, Used to only be able to but Wicked in the states, but last year my truck service shop had it on the shelf and so did my paint supplier(uap). I would check out your local HD parts supplier or a uap dealer in your area. If not let me know and I'll mail you some.Final buff on machine was blue mirror paste. Pic of the rags is after using Wicked and this was only on my trunk trim. Rog: Do I fill the bathtub and mix in drano then put the pieces in?

I made up a steel tray long and narrow, the pieces need to be submerged, takes about 30 min. To remove the anodize. Then smoth and sand .. Then polish..
Still a pile of work .. But at least you can work it.
i stay out of the tub.. Learned my lesson years ago..

Well...doesn't look like much but I spent the last 4 nights cleaning, sanding and polishing the beltline trim. Thanks to Rog's tip I save a couple of days! Haven't noticed any black inlay on the beltline trim from the SD's I've seen online, don't know if they just didn't repaint or if it was a midyear change? Mine was black so it went back, kinda liking the black inlay.. Getting good at masking after doing the car about 7 times!!! Look Darryl...No more holes!!!!!!!

You've met me Jerel........don't think weight will ever be a problem, 5'10" x 1' wide. That's why they put seat belts in cars..... so I don't blow out the window!

With this car Jim, you just may have to wear a parachute in case it does happen.

Maybe a 5 point so I don't slip through the webbing?

Right. But they put seat belts in for me so I don't get that momentum started. I wish my metabolism worked like yours.

Do the Galloping Goose a couple more times and you'll be my size!

Starting in on my interior. Haven't subbed anything out yet,why start. Did the interior on my 57 and my mom (71 today) used to do all their boat upholstery, so I'll be taking it over to her for help. Picked up some burlap, cheese cloth and stainless tig rod from work. The base has burlap with about 1/16 rod going through it for support on the base of the seat and the old rods are rusty, so thinking the new SS rods will outlast me. Need to fix a few springs, sand blast and paint before I start. Will post procedure in case anyone else want's to tackle on their own. Seat Base
Cotton baton with cheese cloth over top that was used on the upper sides of the base

I like this idea.

One seat base is ready for foam and upholstery. Went to moms and borrowed her sewing machine (yes I can sew) so I could hem the burlap. Fixed a couple of broken springs in the base, cleaned and painted. Those SS rods were a bit of a pain, had to put a hook on each end so they don't slide/move. Think the burlap adds a lot of support to the base since the center springs are independent and about 1 1/2' long. Next is the base upholstery.

I like everything stainless, but it's always harder to work with (bend, drill, etc.).

I got caught up on your project this morning, all I can say is WOW. I have a 66 Canso in storage out by you and your build has caused me to step back and think about just what all I'm going to do with it come spring. I need to tell you that I have owned a couple of original paint Aztec Bronze cars and early on in your build I thought you had tinted the bronze to more of an orange shade. Now that you have posted the car in final paint, the brown has come through. Aztec bronze is more brown than orange. Maybe I will paint mine a more orange bronze.
I really liked my Tangerine 63 SD but I thought Aztec bronze would be more suited to the 66 because dark cars are strong or muscular looking and some times a bright color on a convertible looks a little too feminine. I love the pastel colors of the 50's such as mint green or powder blue but they just don't look tough enough.
Thank you for giving me a preview of Aztec Bronze on a 66 Canso hardtop. I think the color combo you have chosen will be killer on this car.
