Finished off most of the interior and side glass, just waiting on a couple of thing to button it up. Made up some brackets to hold my LED lights for under the engine cover. Almost no parts left in the crawl space or basement (happy wife). Some glass then over to the brother in laws shop to finish off the undercarriage.
Just awesome there Jim. Almost a little sad for those of us following this build knowing that it may soon be coming to an end. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks Jerel,on a good note when the car is finished I'll be able to go upstairs and see what my kids look like.
I fought with recovering my headrests for a couple of hours a few weeks ago(was a major pain). So I decided to drop them off this morning to a reputable upholstery shop and picked them up this afternoon. Was quoted 200-220 each to fix and recover, so 440 plus tax is a 500 dollar bill!!!!, They also said the covers were the wrong ones and would need to be re stitched!!! Well another project that I ended up tackling tonight. So this is what I did and they fit! The orig covers were more like a plastic than material so I just cut the plastic with a razor knife and used a putty knife to separate from the foam. Then put a layer of polyester baton over the foam, slid the cover on and test fitted. Had to cut some of the inner piping material off near the corners because you could see it on the outside of the material when pulled tight. Cut the material to size and glued. Not perfect......but not $500.00. Took me about 2 hours to do the one.
You better get a few sets of tires buddy.1st set will
be gone in a week for testing.

Still waiting on some parts so just playing around and cleaning some stuff up. Carpet was getting dirty already so I picked up some clear stair tread runner and cut to size, mounted tach and also wanted a volt meter but was running out of room. Had a small digital one so I made a bracket and mounted it in the ashtray. Just pull out while driving and push it back in when parked.
On my 65 the lighter is now my manual choke pull. It never worked anyway and I don't smoke.
Ditto.
My cigarette lighter is for the smoke screen activation.

Rims sand blasted and painted, tires will be in on Monday. Dug out front and rear glass from the crawl space, front glass had spots all over it,tried to clean with fine steel wool and windex. No Go,bought new one. Window trim polished and pick up my rear bumper from chrome shop tomorrow(after 10 weeks of waiting!) Should be all buttoned up next week and off to the brother inlaws shop for "R" plate and test drive. O ya, also ordered my posi gears, carrier and bearing kit. Getting close!
Nice and it all sounds good. I had secretly voted for that color too. It will be an awesome car and you can be proud of everything done on it by you, Jim.
