Bit further along on back end, found a couple of things. The pass side 1/4 had a spot that was oil canning so I had to shrink it a bit, also noticed a small pin hole below pass side door hinge, so had to fix that. Just glad I found it before paint! Should be ready for primer putty next week. Might have to put Aztec bronze on birthday list instead of Christmas. O ya,house smells like bondo! Wife says nice perfume I'm wearing.
Back end and roof almost done. Spent most of the day playing with the dashes out of both cars today, the one in the SD has a rusted speedo face on it so I took the one out of the 4dr for a swap. Nice to have a 2nd car, also planning on putting a "check" script where the temp light is for the check eng light on the LS. Since I'm running aftermarket temp gauge, dash one wont be needed.
new face old face

Got my "Check" eng indicator done. Went and picked up a yellow folder and some small letters from the dollar store. Letters were just small enough to fit in the temp opening. Now I'll actually be able to see/notice when the light comes on. Couple of crappy pics, need to buy a new camera!
Or maybe lay off the beers when your taking pics??

Finally got some more colour on the car. Had to finish off the gold for the interior before I can do the door jambs etc. Wife's not home so they are sitting by the fire drying. Good to know the family is behind me and anxious to see the car completed, my son told me he wants to lock me in the garage and not let me out until it's done. My wife agreed, but that's probably just to keep me out of her hair.
Great bodywork Jim & an awesome build in general - SD one of my favorite cars there / thanks for sharing.
AtmosKlear ^^ This is the stuff that will eliminate water damage smell, in basement carpet rug / removes cigarette smoke (used car dealers favorite). Works fantastic in a spray-mist bottle - musty odour, got rid of completely, bad smell never returned...during a sewer backup, last year.
I never tried, but AtmosKlear would probably take mouse piss, out of auto carpet / the stuff, is that good. - should neutralize the lingering smell, of good-old bondo in house...real easy
I've had an Apple 5s cell phone, for several months now.
- and haven't used my $500 Lumix DSLR since...the 5s camera has 2 flashes & few years ahead of its cell phone competition
Enjoying all the photos here / well detailed thread.

Thanks guys, Larry I'll have to give that stuff a try, out here on the wet coast even my camper smells musty in the spring. My daughter has a 5s, I'll try it next time I take pics ( if I can pry it out of her hands ). Got a bit of dust in the clear so will have to wetsand and buff once it cures.
Picked up some BLING today from local chrome shop, they did an excellent job on most parts but were 2 small pin marks on one of the rocker extensions. Not a trailer queen so I can live with it, also on bottom side so I don't think most will notice. Didn't realize how much pot metal gets eaten away after they dip, back side of extensions have huge craters in them. Also found out they can do bumpers (mid size), so will be taking mine in to get a price. All in all more than happy with their work for what I paid. Got one of the taillights painted and assembled, also picked up a gallon of aztec bronze.. Have a great neighbour (car guy)! Let me store my 57 in his garage until I finish painting car parts/jambs.
Looks sweet Jim,im drolling. What colour or kind of paint you using
on the tail lights.

Crap, you always have to ask the technical questions! Now I have to get up and look, Plastikote 618 steel( rim paint). Same as what I used on the grill. You still up? Guess your not as old as I thought you where.
