RE: 66 acadian SD resto ( paint )

Electro shine in Sidney, think their tank is big enough for the Canso bumpers (will have to check). Was quoted 120 side for rocker extensions but ended up being 140. Still not bad considering the drive side rocker had 100 chips in it from rocks being thrown up, it was pretty rough. Just have to let them know show or drive, but the tail lights/back up turned out show! 160 a side (tail lights) but you couldn't buy repop china tin for that if they made it. Money well spent compared to running old orig. Owner wasn't there when I went to pick up and turns out I know the guy that does all the work, so......I've got an in.biggrin

Yup, nice to not have any shipping added onto the bill! They have done 60's Cuda bumpers which I think are a bit narrower but he thinks mine will fit in the tank. Here's hoping!

Thanks guys! Ready for some colour tomorrow! Sprayed last coat of tinted primer today so I'll be able to paint the inside of trunk/hood/doors, when their done I'll move car over and do the jambs on it. House is smelling like a body shop, no wonder my wife is anxious to have it done. Thought I posted the vid of tailpipes done.hmm Finished exhaust Les.

Anyone need a car painted purple??? Picked up my aztec bronze last week and went to paint yesterday, opened up the can and this is what I got?confuse Went back today and actually got the right colour mixed! My paint guy felt bad so he told me to take purple home with me.smile Had dinner and went down to the shop to paint!smile Considering what I'm using for a spay booth...turned out pretty good! Will move the car over tomorrow and paint jambs friday. Nice pick of me in the spray booth.biggrin My wife can't be all that mad from the stink if she's coming down taking pics!

She knows who will be driving it and with the paint happening that just means that is coming soon.  Looking good there Jim.

Loooking good Jim.
And if she's not putting up a fuss over the smell and taking pics, I think you just lost your car.........
The purple is hilarious, I'm trying to talk my daughter out of purple.
Got at least 4 years to convince her that keeping the Deepwater Blue is the way to go.

Well it's not purple at least. Spent the day masking and priming. What a pain in the ..., 6 hours to mask hood/doors/car etc. One more wet sand and paint! Dan.. if your daughter is still stuck on purple 4 years from now I'm sure I'll still have the paint sitting on the shelf or I could just ship to her now at n/c and she'll never change her mind.biggrin Darryl, my wife has always said I'm from another world, just don't know which one she is referring to.smile

Thanks Mark,Jerel. Now, if I can get the paint to turn out as good as the primer??????? Last thing I painted was about 6 years ago (Gravel truck) was kinda of a resto frame/cab/box rims etc for a buddy of mine. Pic of cab before box was done, arm gets tired after one of these! We'll see how much talent I have after it's painted.smile

Boy, the truck turned out real good. You will do okay, the primer was just a good practice run.

Well... got the last of the paint done (jambs) before it goes to a real paint shop. Going to take it over to a buds shop to paint it, same shop as I painted the gravel truck in.It's amazing how much the colour changes depending on light. If this rain keeps up I'll have to look for an enclosed trailer! Last pics before final paint.smile

No sanding yet! I'm too lazy.biggrin Think this mild weather is helping it flow out better. Luv'd PPG but my supplier switched to Valspar which has worked out good so far. We'll see how the body goes, I might still be sanding! Yes Carl, long days! Can't wait till it's painted, can let sit, cure and take a week off! Maybe I'll take Christmas day off.smile

That's going to look sooooo good when it's done.
Me I'd be happy with the primer job.
