I bought the whole kit from KMS tools in Victoria, figure I saved $400. I called CPP direct and the pro tour kit stage 1 was 1550 plus shipping, tax, brokerage fee etc. It's cheaper to buy the kit rather than one pieces one at a time. The kit includes front and rear sway bars, cal tracs, shocks, upper and lower control arms, spring sadle and springs. Cal tracks run about 350 & shipping. I plan on making up my own disc brake system the same as on my 57 chev, the whole system cost about $300. This is what I did on my 57. Brake booster of a S-10 ( 9" ) master and prop valve of a 76 ventura and I think the rotors were off a 86 or87 Grad Prix, have to check on the rotors can't remember for sure. ( gota luv gm, 30 yrs later and the same bearing race ). I will double check, but I think the canso spindle is the same as my 57? PM me if you want more info.

Well, a little bit more done on the car, Springs , shocks, swaybars, spindels and hubs are in. The guys I received the suspension kit from sent me the wrong rear shock mount studs 5/8 instead of 1/2 in, so rather than wait three weeks I just modified them myself ( hate new parts that dont fit ). Hope to have on all 4's next week, it will be nice to be able to move it in and out of the shop.
Got a 3 day weekend ( B.C. family day ), so I got a bit more done than I thought I would. Steering is all in except coloum, wasn't thinking and put regular clear on it instead of satin clear ( wetsand and redo clear ).Painted some front end parts, hood latches etc.
Well three weeks later I finally got my disc brakes on my car, took alot of research and measuring but I ended up with 2000 malibue rotors and calipers on my org hubs. Wont fit 14" rims because I used 11" rotors but it does fit the steel 15" off my 57. Almost ready to put back on all 4's, just have to find some 15" steel rims or put my 57 on jackstands. To think that I had 40 15" steel rims that I threw out from our old racing days with darn near every offset possible.
"regular clear" on it instead of "satin clear" why?

The dashes back then weren't glossy as the clear coat we have today, I think most were done in laquer and they had a flat sheen to them, so if you use satin clear it makes it look closer to org
Yes custom fabbed, no templete, just cut and grind cut and grind etc untill they were right. Made from 3/8 flat plate. Bought all grade 8 bolts with locktite, put it together and just about couldn't get it apart. Had to use my 2' flex bar ( don't think its going anywhere ). Am thinking of making a 1/4" template incase anyone wants to do the same setup. Advantage of this is that there 30.00 rotors and 60.00 calipers, no custom order stuff.
Picked up my motor and trans today, they came with a 2000 GMC. Bought a complete 2000 GMC from ICBC, right off vehicle. I figure this way I get everything I need 5.3, 4l60e, computer, wiring and all the sensors etc. Got the whole truck from a bud that has a licence to buy wreck vehicles for 800.00, so I figure I did preaty good, just plan to put a cam in it and have another bud program the computer.

Will have lots of parts Darryl, keeping some for wifes 99, PM me with what you need. Must be small stuff, shipping would be a killer on big stuff, unless your picking up with your private jet.
After 10 years I finally got her back on all 4 tires, trying to get it ready for the 5.3. While I was outside a customer I deliver to stopped by in his ACADIAN he just bought. Said it would give me some motivation.

Will be getting back onto it next week, busy summer. Just took the donor truck (5.3) to my brotherinlaws shop to remove the motor and trans. Will post pics of transplat and prob alot of headachces as I go along. Still trying to build shop and get in 6 chords of firewood. Wish they could print time like they print money.
Finally getting back on it! shorter days, time to get back into the garage. Took the 5.3 and 4l60 out of the GMC, looks like there's enough wiring to go around the earth! This should be interesting
Hey Jim, are you going to go full EFI with the stock computer or swap to intake and carb? Car is looking good!
Sticking with EFI and computer. Just going to spec out a cam and get my buddy Terry ( Rates Rods ) to tune the computer. He's done a few conversions so I will get a bit of help from him on the wiring. Should be around 400-420 HP with cam, exhaust and tune. He programed a stock 5.3 and managed to get it up to around 360-380 I think.
