...just a shot in the dark, but try unlock with the key from outside, then try it.

Thank you for all the kind words of encouragement.

Yes I can still get in through the passengers door

I have tried with the key etc

Lot of lubrication

Was hoping that maybe one of our awesome members ran into this issues and could share some

light on the problem.

Could get it open with some force, but not willing to risk damage, as I love these old cars

Cheers

Wayne

Wayne,

I had a similar issue many years ago and unfortunately can't recall all the grizzly details but it did include pulling the door panel and slicing up the forearm to reach the mechanism from within the confines of a closed door. If I can recall it was either a seized or broken lock arm on the latch.

Best of success.

......did it just happen all of a sudden, or did you get the car like this that this door didn't open ? Did you try roll the window all the way down and with a can of penetrating oil with the long red tip stick it in there and shoot the mech / latch as best as you can. Could be like dcneric says, seized or worse a piece broke.

Many years ago I had this issue with my 74 Corvette....wouldn't open inside or outside.

Had to use a slim jim device to get into the door to get the door open.

Then remove the panel to see what the problem was, clip came off on one of the rods inside the door

Wayne, my '67 Rag does this semi-frequently since the first day it happened... 31 years ago... Lock and unlock manually repeatedly.. Mine, when opening, will "click, click click" on every up stroke and then it will "clunk" when it's ready to open... Then it works fine... Try it!

And, no, i'm not fixing mine as it is a quirt that reminds me of my Dad..... cry
