Got at the Torpedoback this week & started the Frt. pwr. window install with aftermarket kit. Had to remove the lwr. window stop thats "V" shaped that goes out to outer "skin" then back to inner panel, spot welded in!! Took over an hr. to get it out. Pwr. unit put up a "good' fight, had to make a flat bar wxt. from lwr. window channel to lift unit then "fab" up other mtg. brkts. but I "WON" removed the door stop & that allowed the door open far enough to drill out the wiring hole with a "step" drill & installed the grommets & wires. Have made up all the "Mods" for pass. side so that will make it a time saver. 2nd. photo is the Lwr. stop
.....now your talkin my language ! looking good so far pete. I am curiuos how much power these kits have for pushing up the window, especially if you have new fuzzy's . I know how hard it is to work in there with the limited access into the door. Neat that you didn't have to take the door off to drill in the jamb for the wiring.
Pwr. is 'pretty healthy" I have all new "fuzzy's & they go up & dwn. very quick!!! Just finished putting Dr. door back together, switches look good, & they light up red "BONUS" as my dash lights are all red!!

....glad to hear it all works ok. The other door will change over faster now that you know what to do. That's a real kool add-on to the pontiac , you lucked out with the red lights . Who makes this pw setup ?
Unclear from the pics so I'll ask. Can this be done on a "finished " door ( ie one that has already been painted ) or does it need to be done as part of a restoration?
Yes you can do it on a "finished door" my only problem was that i "marked" the "TINT" flim on the glass sliding in the unit!! My mistake!!! should have wraped the regulator?? If the Canso has "flat" glass YES this unit will work. I got it from GEM Street Rods in the USA & it says E-Z Inc.on instructions, so assuming that it's the same Manufacturer as E-Z wiring harness, that I installed in car on build??? The right side "IS" going quicker, as I made up the brkts needed ahead of time from doing left side!!!
