Hi All,

  I'm from Southern California and I joined for a several reasons:

1)  I have a 1967 Impala SS convertible w/Strato-Bench seat.  And since the Canadian Pontiac full-size line is closely related to the Chevrolet line, I'm finding this site to have a ton info, especially on the Strato seats.  I'm converting mine to a 6-way power seat. 

2)  I've always liked Pontiacs.  My first car was a 1969 Firebird 350HO.  Yes, it was a real 350HO car, but I was too young & stupid to keep it.  I'd like to find it now.  My cousin is an original owner of a 1969 GTO, which he still owns.

3)  Canadian Pontiacs are fascinating.  I first saw one at a car show about 25 years ago --> 1969 Parisienne (I think) with a 396.  

4)  I've become interested in the 1967 Grand Prix.  Awesome car.  There is one locally w/a 428 and 4 speed.

So, I hoping to learn something from you all (actually, I already have) and maybe you can learn something from me!

Welcome BigDog. The Strato Back bench on a 67 Impala SS was a U.S. - only thing. Here in Canada we got it only on the Caprice & Grande Parisienne. Then there's the Aussies...

You are about the first person I've heard refer to the seat by the correct GM name --> "Strato-Back" bench. I gave up years ago and just refer to it as "Strato-Bench". Easier for others to understand what I'm referring to.

Welcome aboard from Milton, Ontario, Canada. That is a real sweet looking 67 Chev you got there. I have always thought that 67 full size Chevy's were beautiful cars. You can take Cam's word as the Chevy gospel, when it comes to any information concerning your year Chevy or any year for that matter. Cam made the comment on the bench seat you have. I hope you enjoy the ride here and who knows......... maybe there is a Canadian Pontiac in your future. Cheers. George.

Thanks George.  Actually, several years ago, there was a 1967 Canadian 2+2 floating around that was odd --> 6 cylinder, blue exterior and red interior.  The car looked to be in very good shape and price seemed reasonable.  I briefly considered buy it.

The GM of Canada options/price list says it's a "Seat, Front Strato Bench" so that's why I have always considered that to be the correct term.

 We know that car ... there is actually a couple posts on this website about it. It did look in nice shape ... odd colour combo, but interesting.
